Watertown Residents Graduate from Sheriff’s Youth Public Safety Academy

Koutoujian (back row center), Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan, Governor’s Councillor Marilyn Petitto Devaney, Belmont Police Chief James MacIsaac, Watertown Police Chief Thomas Rocca and members of the Belmont and Watertown Police Departments were in attendance Friday, July 22, 2022 to recognize graduates of the Middlesex Sheriff’s Office Youth Public Safety Academy (YPSA) from the communities of Belmont and Watertown.

Middlesex Sheriff Peter J. Koutoujian congratulated 72 graduates of the Youth Public Safety Academy’s (YPSA) second session of 2022 during a ceremony at Chelmsford High School on Friday, July 22. The cadets were primarily from the communities of Belmont, Framingham, Hudson, Marlborough, Medford, Natick and Watertown.

Junior Eurovison Winner from Armenia Giving Free Concert

Berklee College of MusicArmenian singer Maléna, the winner of the Junior Eurovision competition, will perform free in Boston.

Internationally recognized singer-songwriter Arpine Martoyan, known by her professional stage name Maléna, will perform in Boston this summer after receiving the Armenian Scholarship to attend a coveted Berklee summer program.

YMCA Naming New Building at Summer Camp for Former Watertown Teacher

West Suburban YMCAThe new Loch Lodge at the West Suburban YMCA’s Camp Chickami is nearing completion. The multipurpose building is named after former Watertown teacher Jim Lochiatto.

Jim Lochiatto, or Mr. Loch, made an impact on many Watertown children as an art teacher and working at the YMCA’s Camp Chickami, and now he is being honored by having a new building at the Y’s summer camp named for him.
