Police Log: Man Faces OUI Charge After Rolling Vehicle, Car Stolen from Auto Shop

The following information was provided by the Watertown Police Department. Arrests

Sept. 16, 10:54 p.m.: A member of the public reported seeing a person sleeping in their vehicle on Arlington Street near Arsenal Street. When police arrived they found a man in a black Lexus sedan who was asleep at the wheel with the vehicle in drive and his foot on the brake. The car was stopped in the travel lane.

The following information was provided by the Watertown Police Department. Arrests

Sept. 9, 2:49 p.m.: A shoplifter was spotted at Home Depot, and when police arrived security pointed out a man riding away on a bicycle with a trailer attached. When they stopped the suspect police found the suspect had $226 worth of items from Home Depot as well as $704 in merchandise from Target. Officers also found that he had two arrest warrants in his name.

The following information was provided by the Watertown Police Department. Arrests

Aug. 30, 1:43 p.m.: Employees at Vero Watertown on Coolidge Hill Road spotted some suspicious people in the woods behind the senior assisted living home. Some men were walking in the wooded area between Vero and Filippello Park. Police located three men who had several bikes in the trees.

Aug. 18, 6:43 a.m.: Police received a report of a man yelling, waving his arms and acting erratically on Cottage Street. Officers located a man fitting the description. He was holding a bottle of alcohol, which he discarded when he spotted police officers.

Aug. 2, 9:24 a.m.: A Channing Road resident received a letter from the state unemployment office saying a claim had been made in his name. The man did not file the claim and is trying to resolve the problem with the state. Aug.

Boston Man Busted on Firearms Charges After Rolling Car in Watertown

A Boston man faces charges for firearm offenses after he got into an accident in Watertown. On Aug. 2, at about 4:45 a.m., Watertown Police went to Watertown Square for a vehicle that had rolled over during an accident. Both people involved said they were OK, and one of them, later identified as Jahvon Burton, had cuts to the head and body, said Watertown Police Sgt. Ken Swift.

The following information was provided by the Watertown Police Department. Arrests

July 28, 1:14 a.m.: Watertown Police checked on a car parked at Arsenal Park after closing time. A man inside was sleeping in the backseat. When they checked on the man, police spoke to him and found out he had an outstanding warrant. Joshua Wood, 31, from Lowell, was arrested on the warrant from Brighton District Court for disorderly conduct and destruction of property.

Police Log: Driver Busted After Driving With No Tire on Rim, Valuables Taken from Apartment

The following information was provided by the Watertown Police Department. Arrests

July 15, 1:54 a.m.: An officer who stopped at a red light on North Beacon Street heading toward Watertown Square when he heard a loud scraping noise coming from behind him. He looked in the mirror and saw a grey Ford SUV, with the driver’s side tire completely off the rim. The SUV was driving on its rim, and sparks were coming from the rim as it traveled past the cruiser. When the officer stopped the vehicle, the driver said he had not been in an accident but that he got a flat when he drove over a nail.
