Free Qigong Classes Start Tuesday at Watertown Library

Live Well Watertown is offering FREE, drop-in, Qigong for Health & Healing classes at the Watertown Free Public Library on Tuesdays, from 1:00 – 2:00pm, September 12 through October 17, 2023! This class is easy, fun, and relaxing, with movements similar to Yoga and Tai Chi. Class description below:

As the seasons turn from late summer to Fall, our immune systems become more susceptible to colds/ flu/allergies/fatigue to name a few. Now more than ever, we need to keep our immune systems strong and our body and mind grounded. This can be achieved by improving the flow of energy in your body and calming your mind.  This series will consist of practicing body tapping, meridian stretching, practice feeling energy, and meditation as a means to achieve this goal.  These movements help to increase your vitality, flexibility, and power on a physical level and bring you to a more peaceful place in your heart and mind.

Man Behind the Water Shuttle to Boston Leads Tour Along River

“The best way to get to Boston is by boat!” Drew Rollert told a group of people who joined the Live Well Watertown/Watertown Business Coalition Walk N Talk along the Charles River on Sept. 14.

Live Well Watertown, a program of the City of Watertown, will host several activities to get out and about this fall, including a Walk along with River with the man who wants to start a shuttle on the Charles River, and Qigong classes at the Library. How Many People Face Hunger Discussed During Episode of Watertown Cable Show

The number of residents facing food insecurity spiked during the COVID-19 shutdown, but even though the Pandemic has waned many people still are in danger of going hungry. The latest episode of Watertown Cable Access TV’s Inside Watertown focuses on hunger and food insecurity in Watertown. Guests Tia Tilson, Executive Director of the Watertown Community Foundation, and Stephanie Venizelos, Community Wellness Program Manager (including Live Well Watertown) joined co-hosts Bob Airasian and Charlie Breitrose. Tilson and Venizelos spoke about about how many people are using resources in the City such as the food pantries and the state’s food assistance programs, as well as ways that people can help out.

Community Walk N’ Talks Series Kicks Off Thursday!

Our first program will start at Arsenal Yards, go through Arsenal Park with a stop at the Commander’s Mansion before looping back. The program is a partnership between Live Well Watertown and the Watertown Business Coalition
