First Event in Spring Walking Series Moved to This Week

Join Live Well Members & our Partners in Celebrating National Walking Day for a Walk along the Charles River Wednesday, April 11, 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. starting at Saltonstall Park (Main Street, next to Town Hall)

The days are getting longer and warmer! Members from Trees for Watertown will be pointing out budding trees and signs of Spring along the way. WALK-INS WELCOME

Participants will walk at a moderate pace for 30 or 60 minutes. Sneakers or walking shoes and comfortable, clothing recommended.

Learn About Healthy Eating and Cooking at Watertown Winter Soup Fest

Live Well Watertown will host the Winter Soup Fest where chefs from the Eat Well Team will have healthy and warming soups to sample. 

The Eat Well program is open to all Watertown residents and offers hands-on experience and fun with a focus on Watertown’s diverse ethnic cuisine. Join us for one or more classes and learn how to select fresh, local, healthy foods and prepare nutritious and delicious meals. The Soup Fest is the first event in the series for 2018, and will be held Wednesday, February 28 from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. at the Watertown Free Public Library, 123 Main St., Watertown, MA 02472

Live Well Watertown Hosts Second of Weekly Walks at Mt. Auburn Cemetery

Live Well Watertown will host the second weekly walk through Mount Auburn Cemetery on Thursday. 

The group sent out the following information:

Thursdays, February 15th – March 8th, at 12:00pm
Mount Auburn Cemetery, 580 Mount Auburn St., Cambridge,

different route each week.

Watertown Walks Returns With Trek Through Mt. Auburn Cemetery

Live Well Watertown, a group promoting healthy living, will once again host a series of guided walks in the community. The first one is coming up on Feb. 15, 2018. Live Well Watertown sent out the following information:

Watertown Moves Bike Event Happening This Sunday Along the Charles

Live Well Watertown, the Watertown Bicycle and Pedestrian Committee and Bay State Bike Week will host a special bicycle event along the shores of the Charles River. The event was rescheduled from last Sunday due to rain. The Watertown Moves Bike Event will be on Sunday, May 21, 2017, from 2-4 p.m. at the Watertown Square Dock (at the Galen St. Bridge on the Charles River). The groups sent out the following announcement:

Dig your bike out of the basement, garage, or shed and bring it down for a free check-up and get some bike safety tips from Commonwheels friendly and knowledgeable staff.

Bike Along the Charles River, Get a Tune Up and Win Prizes This Weekend

Free Low Carb Cooking Demonstration Offered for Watertown Residents

Learn how to make a healthy and tasty low-carb meal during a free cooking demonstration organized by Live Well Watertown. The Eat Well Watertown Event will be held on Wednesday, April 26 from 6:30-8 p.m. at Church of the Good Shepherd, 9 Russell Ave., Watertown. Live Well sent out the following information:

Join us for our next Eat Well Program featuring “Chef” Lisa, who will teach you how to prepare healthy, tasty, low carb cuisine. This series offers hands-on experience and fun with a focus on Watertown’s diverse ethnic cuisine. We are excited to include a health education component to our program and we welcome new team member, Leila!
