Watertown Declares Snow Emergency for This Weekend’s Storm

A winter weather event is predicted with 8-10 inches of snow accumulation in our area. The Superintendent of Public Works has declared a snow emergency effective 6:00 p.m. Saturday January 19, 2019, and will remain in effect until further notice.

With another storm looming, the Department of Public Works has declared a snow emergency in Watertown. Vehicles will not be allowed to be parked on public streets, and could be towed. See more the announcement below:

A winter weather event is predicted with high winds and 6 to 10 inches of snow accumulation. The Superintendent of Public Works has declared a snow emergency effective 12 p.m. Wednesday, March 21, 2018 and will remain in effect until further notice. There will be no delay in trash pickup.

Watertown Calls Snow Emergency for Nor’easter, Council Meeting Postponed

Tuesday’s Nor’easter has not arrived but has already closed town offices, and postponed events. 

The Watertown Public Schools will have a snow day on Tuesday, according to the district website. The Town of Watertown announced that Town Hall, the Watertown Free Public Library and the Senior Center will be closed Tuesday, and Tuesday night’s Town Council meeting has been postponed. It will be rescheduled to Thursday, March 15 at 7:15 p.m.

Also, the Watertown High School’s boys basketball team’s state semifinal will be postponed and moved. The game was moved to Burlington High School at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. A winter weather event is predicted with high winds and 10 plus inches of snow accumulation.

Snow Emergency Declared in Watertown for Wednesday’s Snow Storm & Beyond

The Watertown Department of Public Works has declared a Snow Emergency, meaning on-street parking will be banned. The Snow Emergency begins at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 and is in effect until further notice. Cars will not be allowed to be parked on the streets of Watertown at any time, and those on the street are subject to towing. The Superintendent of Public Works has declared a snow emergency effective 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 7, 2018 and will remain in effect until further notice. Parking Ban – On street parking will be banned and any motor vehicle left on the street will be subject to towing until further notice.

Watertown Declares Snow Emergency; Schools, Town Hall, Other Facilities Closed

With a foot or more of snow expected in Watertown, the Department of Public Works has announced a snow emergency starting at 12:01 a.m. on Thursday, and Town offices and facilities will be closed on Thursday. The Watertown Public Schools will be closed, Superintendent Dede Galdston sadid in an announcement:
“Due to the incoming snow storm, all Watertown Public Schools will be CLOSED tomorrow, Thursday, January 4. All school-related and extracurricular activities are canceled tomorrow as well. Stay warm and be safe!”

A major storm will hit Watertown Thursday, and already schools have been closed and a snow emergency has been declared. 

The Watertown Public Schools will be closed Thursday, according to the list of school closings on WCVB’s website. Also, there will be no evening activities. Snow Emergency

Watertown Declares Snow Emergency, No On-Street Parking During Storm

Effective 6 p.m. on Saturday Jan. 7, the Town of Watertown is under a snow emergency, the Superintendent of Public Works declared. The Watertown Police sent out the following announcement:

On street parking is now banned, any motor vehicle left on the street will be subject to towing. Please assist the public works department by not parking on the street and allowing the public works vehicles full access to clear the streets. We would appreciate your assistance by clearing any snow from fire hydrants and catch basins in your area.

Snow Impact: Tuesday Closings, Parking Ban & Trash Update

The latest, ongoing snow storm looks to be a biggie, and will impact Watertown residents this week. 

The National Weather Service forecasts 8-16 inches of snow overnight and during the day Monday. The Watertown Public Schools will be closed Monday and Tuesday. Town Hall, the Watertown Free Public Library and the Watertown Senior Center will be closed Monday. The School Committee meeting has been rescheduled to Feb. 23, said Superintendent Jean Fitzgerald.
