Celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month with WFPL! On Tuesday evening, 9/13, you’re invited to a virtual Latinx Heritage Author Panel with Isabel Cañas, Romina Garber, Priscilla Oliveras, and Caridad Piñeiro. Our bestselling panelists will discuss how their diverse Latinx backgrounds have influenced their writing, characters, publishing journey, and fan base.

Bookmobile Ready to Make Its Debut, Bring Watertown Library to the Public

Watertown LibraryCommunity Outreach Librarian Marissa Monteiro hands out a book from Watertown Libary’s new bookmobile. A new, mobile branch of the library will officially hit the streets of Watertown on Aug. 13, but the bookmobile has already proven to be a hit during test runs. Community Outreach Librarian Marissa Monteiro has been working out the kinks, and making test runs in the brightly colored Mercedes Sprinter van — the Watertown Free Public Library’s new bookmobile. The official debut of the bookmobile, which has been named the “Speed Reader,” will be at the Watertown Arts Market on Saturday, Aug.

And … we’re ready to roll! The WFPL Bookmobile makes its public debut on Saturday, August 13, 12 – 5 PM, at the Watertown Arts Market in Arsenal Park. A mobile library is about reaching people where they are at, so we want to hear where you want us to go.

Youngsters Visit Brigham House for Teddy Bear Picnic

COVID has certainly disrupted our social programs. With the nice weather and the ability to be outside, Watertown Families Together and Church of the Good Shepherd are trying to reinstate intergenerational programming with Brigham House in Watertown. Brigham HouseResidents of Brigham House enjoy the Teddy Bear Picnic. Just recently we were able to bring together the residents of Brigham House and families with young children for a Teddy Bear Picnic. Residents and families were treated to music with Ruth Rappaport, stories with Kathleen from the Watertown Library, yummy treats, crafts andsurprises.
