A year after losing his life in a fire in the Back Bay, Boston Fire lieutenant and Watertown native Ed Walsh was honored with a plaque at his fire house. 

A ceremony was held outside the fire house that is home to Engine 33 and Ladder 15. The nine-alarm fire on Beacon Street also claimed the life of firefighter Michael Kennedy. Boston Mayor Marty Walsh spoke at the unveiling. Boston Fire Commissioner Joe Finn said there is no closure for firefighters when like Walsh and Kennedy, they just have to keep doing there jobs, “responding to incidents and helping the public,” according to a report by WBUR.

Watertown Police Bust Two Suspects on Drug Charges

Watertown Police busted a man and a woman after finding cocaine and prescription pills on them. Police received a call reporting that a woman in a car who had a rubber tube tied around her arm and appeared to be injecting herself with a needle in the parking lot of Dunkin’ Donuts on Mt. Auburn Street, said Watertown Police Lt. Michael Lawn. When officers arrived, they found to two women in the car. “As they were talking to the two females, a man came up to ask what was going on and said he was ‘with the two girls,'” Lawn said.

Police Log: Woman Arrested After Hitting Two Cars, Snowblower Stolen

March 12, 12:27 p.m.: Police were called to Main Street near the Central Fire Station and found the suspect near the Watertown Free Public Library. The 65-year-old Boston man had a warrant for his arrest out of Boston District Court for shoplifting. March 13, 2:59 p.m.: A man was found on the ground in a parking lot on Main Street. Police found the man lying next to a snow pile.

Watertown Couple Arrested After Attacking Elderly Taxi Driver

Police arrested a pair of Watertown residents who allegedly attacked an 80-year-old taxi driver when he confronted them for not paying their cab fare on St. Patrick’s Day. Police received a call from the taxi driver to report a fare evasion. “Officers observed the driver’s face was red and flush, and was bloodied with a possible broken nose,” said Watertown Police Lt. Michael Lawn. The taxi driver picked up the couple, identified as Tyler Tuccio and Samantha Moreira of Watertown, in Boston and drove them to Highland Street in Watertown. When he informed them of the fare, Tuccio and Moreira exited the cab without paying, Lawn said.

Watertown Woman Busted at a Cracker Barrel on Drug Charges

A Watertown woman faces charges of dealing drugs at at Cracker Barrel restaurant in Tewksbury. Drug dealers keep trying different locations in North Tewksbury to conduct business and the Tewksbury Police Department seems to be there every week for more arrests, according to a report on Your Tewksbury Today. Cracker Barrel was the scene Monday at 7 p.m., when Tewksbury officers encountered two alleged dealers with multiple types of drugs in their possession. Gina M. Valentine, 32, of 64A Belmont St., Watertown, was arrested and charged with possession of a Class A drug with intent to distribute, three counts of possession of a Class E drug and possession of a Class B drug. Matthew F. Reardon, 34, 14 Malvern Ave., Tyngsborough, was arrested and charged with possession of a Class A drug with intent to distribute and possession of Class B drug.

Owner of Watertown Boat Describes Finding the Marathon Bombing Suspect

The owner of the infamous “Watertown Boat” described finding the Boston Marathon Bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev in Boston Federal Court on Tuesday. 

Dave Henneberry, a lifelong Watertown resident, had shrink wrapped up his boat, SlipAway II, and parked it in the yard of his Franklin Street home. The testimony comes from live social media reports from reporters at the Boston Federal Court House. When the “shelter in place” had been lifted on the evening of April 20, 2013, Henneberry went out and noticed the wrapping had come loose. Arrests
March 3, 10:26 a.m.: Police patrolling on Mt. Auburn Street spotted a man who they knew had an outstanding warrant. The 51-year-old man from Watertown was arrested on the warrant from Charlestown District Court for traffic offenses. March 3, 10:45 p.m.: An officer responded to a minor accident on Arsenal Street and found a pickup truck had struck a UPS truck. The officer detected an odor of alcohol on the driver’s breath.

Watertown’s Day at Trial of Boston Marathon Bombing Suspect

Nearly two years after the suspected Boston Marathon bombers interrupted a quiet April night in Watertown with gunfire and homemade bombs, the events of April 18 2013 and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev’s role in them were examined in Federal Court in Boston. On Thursday, jurors in the trial of Tsarnaev saw testimony about the killing of MIT Police Officer Sean Collier by the Dzhokhar and his older brother Tamerlan Tsarnaev while Collier sat in his police cruiser in Cambridge. Then the jurors heard from Dun Meng, the owner of the now infamous black Mercedes SUV that was carjacked Tamerlan. He rode in the vehicle for 20-30 minutes, eventually pulling over on a street in Watertown where another car pulled up behind him and loaded something in his SUV. Meng said the other man was Dzhokhar.
