The Raiders (5-4) held the explosive Dover-Sherborn (8-1) offense scoreless early in the game, forcing a punt on the first drive and the second ending in a missed field goal.

Watertown Youth Hockey Looking to Grow, Skating and Hockey Lessons Start Soon

Charlie BreitroseWatertown Youth Hockey players practice at the John A. Ryan Arena. Watertown Youth Hockey will soon start its popular Learn to Skate program, and coaches hope that eventually the young skaters will move on to the youth hockey teams.

Watertown Youth Hockey has been around since the early 1970s, if not longer, said Watertown Youth Hockey President Jason Tourville, who also coaches in the program. A few years ago the program shrank when multiple players moved to other programs in the area, but a new generation is coming up through the program. There are some pros and cons about being a smaller program. “The upside is the community, you get to know each other,” Tourville said.

Watertown Field Hockey Coach Reaches 700 Wins With Victory Over Wakefield

Watertown Field HockeyWatertown Field Hockey Coach Eileen Donahue, wearing blue and grey, celebrated win number 700 on Thursday. The Watertown High School hockey team’s 12th win of the season on Thursday at Wakefield was milestone for head coach Eileen Donahue. The Hall of Fame coach now has 700 victories. The Raiders defeated Wakefield 6-0 on Thursday. Afterward, the team presented the game ball to Donahue.

2021 Boston Marathon: Watertown Runner Among Best Women’s Runners, See How the Local Runners Finished

Twenty-five Watertown runners entered the 125th Boston Marathon on Monday, including one who finished among the best women’s runners in the 2021 race. The top runner from town was Elaina Tabb, who finished 12th in the women’s race and 88th overall. Matthew Farkas was the fastest male runner from Watertown. He finished 100th overall and was the 87th fastest man. The 2021 Boston Marathon drew 20,000 runners.

Watertown Field Hockey Working on the Basics With Hopes it Will Pay Off at the End of the Season

Watertown High School’s field hockey team has jumped out to a hot start, winning their first four games without allowing a goal, but the team is not satisfied and looks for ways to improve their performance. Thursday, Watertown defeated Melrose 7-0, led by a hat trick by Aislin Devaney. Four others scored goals: Taylor Lambo, Lizzie Loftus, Maggie Driscoll and Rachel Egan, and assists were added by Ally Fujix, Maggie Driscoll (2), Loftus (2), Molly Driscoll and Egan.
