Two Watertown Athletes Sign Letters to Play Field Hockey in College

Watertown Field Hockey players Aurise Tattrie (left) and Ally Kennedy signed to play in college. Tattrie will play at UMass Lowell and Kennedy at Vermont. Two Watertown High School seniors, Ally Kennedy and Aurise Tattrie, will continue their field hockey careers when they head to college next fall. Monday afternoon, the pair officially signed letters committing their choice of colleges — Vermont for Kennedy and UMass Lowell for Tattrie — in a ceremony held in the Watertown High School Gym. Kennedy verbally committed to play for the Catamounts after her sophomore year.

WHS Sports: Football Team on a Winning Streak, Cross Country Wraps Up Season

Watertown senior quarterback Brennan Cook has had multiple touchdown passes in the past two wins for the Raiders. The Watertown High School football team may have missed the tournament, but the Raiders have found their winning ways. The team heads into the Belmont game on a three game winning streak and with a chance to finish with a winning record. On Friday, Watertown traveled to Weston and won handily, 31-7. Four Raiders scored touchdowns in the victory.

Watertown Sisters Compete in NCAA Field Hockey Tourney, Two More WHS Grads Played in Div. 3 Tourney

Sisters Kourtney (left) and Jonna Kennedy will both be playing in the NCAA Field Hockey Tournament Sunday. Kourtney plays for UConn and Jonna for Boston College. Sisters Kourtney and Jonna Kennedy will each be competing in the second round of the NCAA Div. I Field Hockey Tournament Sunday, as their teams seek a berth in the Final Four. Kourtney Kennedy, a junior defender with UConn, will be playing against Princeton in Storrs, Conn., at 1 p.m. Sunday.

Watertown High School’s boys soccer team fended off waves of attack from Dracut in the Div. 3 North quarterfinal, but in crunch time Rodrigo Freitas struck and won the game for the Raiders in sudden death overtime. The third seeded Watertown (14-4-2) defeated sixth seed Dracut (12-9) by a score of 2-1 in double overtime Wednesday night at Victory Field in the state tournament game. The win was the second straight in overtime for the Raiders.

WHS Sports: Boys Soccer Claims Tourney Win in OT, Football Wins, Field Hockey Game Moved

Watertown’s boy’s soccer team advanced to the North Section quarterfinal after an overtime win on Monday night. The Watertown boys soccer team came from behind to defeat Weston in overtime in the first round of the Div. 3 North Section tournament on Monday night. The third-seeded Raiders went up in the first half 1-0, but the visitors tied the game with two minutes left in the first half. Weston, the 14th seed, took a second half lead, but Watertown fought back to tie the score with five minutes left in regulation.

WHS Sports: Raiders Field Hockey Advances With OT Win, Boys Soccer Opens Tourney at Home

The Raiders won in overtime over Wayland to move on to the North Section semifinals. Here Watertown faces Tewksbury in the first round of the tourney. It took overtime, but the Watertown High School field hockey team moved to the North Section semifinals by defeating Wayland 1-0 on Saturday. Freshman Elizabeth Loftus scored the lone goal 3:28 into overtime to give the Raiders the win at Victory Field. The winner came from a wrist shot.
