The Dish is a new collaboration between Watertown News and the Little Local Conversations podcast which takes a deep dive into a favorite dish from a local restaurant and beyond.
Watertown’s Ritcey East has become a favorite place for people looking for comfort food, a cocktail, and enjoy it in a laid back, fun atmosphere. One of the most popular menu items, the fish tacos, also harkens back to owner Max Ritcey’s culinary roots, and has strong family ties.
WHS Seeing More Students from Diverse Backgrounds in Advanced Classes

The students taking Advanced Placement classes at Watertown High School have become more diverse, and more students come from low-income backgrounds. The total number of students in AP classes increased, too.
Student Cell Phone Ban During School Day Approved by School Committee
The School Committee approved a Personal Electronic Device (PED) Policy that prevents students from using or having access to a device — such as a cell phone or tablet — during the entire school day, including during lunchtime and breaks.

Chaplain Clementina M. Chéry, founder of the Louis D. Brown Peace Institute established in 1994 following the murder of her 15 year old son, Louis, will be addressing a public forum to be held at the Watertown Middle School, 68 Waverley Ave., on Jan. 17, from 6:30–8:00 p.m.

Watertown Middle School Students Collect Items for People Battling Opioid Addiction

Eighth graders at Watertown Middle School collected cold weather items for people overcoming addiction at a program at Mass. General Hospital. This was the first activity for the group working to help those trying to overcome addiction.
In their first effort to help patients trying to overcome addiction, a group of Watertown Middle School students collected clothes and other items to help homeless people in need.

Tony Dovolani, a professional dancer who won “Dancing with the Stars” will teach a class at the local Fred Astaire Dance Studio.
A winning dancer from Dancing with the Stars will make a special appearance at a local dance studio to teach ballroom dancing.

As Construction of Arsenal Yards Rolls Ahead, Developers Switch Direction on Tallest Building
