With temperatures forecast to reach 100 degrees this week, the City of Watertown has compiled a list of places to keep cool during the heatwave.

Watertown’s Eileen Ryan was one of 147 women from across Massachusetts to be nominated for the Commonwealth Heroine Award. She was nominated by State Sen. Will Brownsberger. Watertown High School students, alumni, and parents of students who took part in the Armenian language program urged School officials to bolster the program for fear of losing the classes that are more than just about learning a language.

Planet Fitness, one of the largest and fastest-growing franchisors and operators of fitness centers in the U.S. and home of the Judgement Free Zone ®, will soon open in Watertown, Massachusetts. The club plans to open its doors in mid-October and will be located on the Watertown/Newton line at 191 Watertown Street next to Stop & Shop, Planet Fitness announced.
Town officials denied the request from Watertown Youth Soccer for temporary lights to be placed at a park in town this fall.
