With temperatures forecast to reach 100 degrees this week, the City of Watertown has compiled a list of places to keep cool during the heatwave.

Watertown’s Eileen Ryan was one of 147 women from across Massachusetts to be nominated for the Commonwealth Heroine Award. She was nominated by State Sen. Will Brownsberger. Watertown High School students, alumni, and parents of students who took part in the Armenian language program urged School officials to bolster the program for fear of losing the classes that are more than just about learning a language.

It is 43 days to Election Day, Nov. 8th. The local referendum, Question 5, regarding the Community Preservation Act is on the ballot again. Vote YES and your taxes will be raised through a 2 percent tax surcharge on your annual property tax assessment for at least five years and possibly beyond.
The westbound side of Arsenal Street will be closed on Friday, Sept. 30 while crews work on the road, and eastbound traffic will be detoured.
On Wednesday, Sept. 21, a group of 25 concerned residents of Watertown and Waltham attended a public meeting hosted by Watertown Citizens for Peace, Justice and the Environment at the Watertown Free Public Library, for a discussion of the Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement (more recently renamed Movement for Black Lives), the group announced.
