Victoria Waterman and Stephen Kurkjian will appear at the Armenian Museum of America in a program co-sponsored with the Watertown Free Public Library.

On Tuesday, Dec. 12, the Armenian Museum of America and the Watertown Free Public Library will welcome author Victoria Waterman in conversation with Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Stephen Kurkjian. The writers will discuss Waterman’s novel Who She Left Behind during a free talk at the Watertown Free Public Library.

Watertown Group Gets Grant from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Mass. Foundation

The following information was provided by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts Foundation:

The Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts Foundation, a nonprofit grantmaking and research organization, today announced the launch of a new grant program, Supporting Health Coverage Enrollment Efforts, that will support organizations statewide that help eligible people secure and maintain MassHealth (Medicaid) or other insurance coverage. The Foundation awarded a total of $600,000 to 10 community-based organizations located across the state, including a Watertown-based organization.

Watertown Field Hockey Team Withstands Newburyport Comeback to Win Thrilling State Final

WORCESTER — Sometimes a moment leaves you grasping for words, unable to form full sentences. Several feelings flowing all at once — triumph, exhilaration, pride, a sense of relief, and pure joy. All you can do is just scream and give the nearest person a big hug. Those waves of emotions washed over the Watertown High School field hockey team Saturday night after emerging from a rollercoaster ride called the 2023 MIAA Div. 3 State Final.

STATE FINAL: Final — Watertown Wins 4-3!

Watertown High School’s field hockey team has been streaking towards the program’s 21st State Championship in 2023. A win in Saturday’s MIAA Div. 3 State Final would give the Raiders their 75th straight win, third straight title, and if they shut out Newburyport the team would extend its national record shutout streak to 42.
