Longtime Former Town Manager Michael Driscoll Passes Away

The man who led Watertown’s municipal government for nearly three decades, former Town Manager Michael Driscoll, passed away on Saturday.

David Barth did not take the most direct route to becoming Perkins School for the Blind’s President and CEO, but he told Watertown News that the work helping some of the most vulnerable children get the education, services, and rights that they deserve is something he has done during his whole career.

A Watertown store purchased more than 100 of boxes of Girl Scout cookies from a Watertown Brownie Troop, and the girls recently delivered them to a pair of food pantries in town.

Sigrid is a former Board member and former President of the Historical Society, as well at a former Director of the Watertown Free Public Library. CHARLES BRIGHAM’S HOUSES GRACE GARFIELD STREET
Recently I had the pleasure of seeing both the exterior and the interior of Charles Brigham’s house on Garfield Street at the invitation of Wilga Rivers, the present owner. It sits on a large lot, and retains many of the features for which Brigham was renowned. Friends had described to me the beautiful bas-reliefs that decorate the interior, and I was eager to see them for myself.
James DeMarco grew up in Watertown and became a goaltender at age 5. It’s his life’s passion to stand between the pipes and keep the puck out of the net.
One of the food pantries in town must find a temporary location while their current location is under construction.
