BOSTON — Bravery. It comes in all shapes and sizes. Among the bravest, in my opinion, are those individuals who are forced to live their lives visually impaired. Sight is a precious thing, and not having it is one of the cruelest things you could inflict on any human being. Yet, over the years so many incredible techniques and equipment have been devised and developed to allow the visually impaired community to do things that those of us with sight take for granted. One of those things is the opportunity to play the great sport of baseball, more commonly known to the visually impaired community as Beep Baseball.
These properties are having open houses this weekend.

Watertown officials who got an inside look at the new Cunniff Elementary School gazed around in amazement at the nearly completed school building on Tuesday afternoon.
Watertown writers Kathleen Spivack, Lawrence Kessinich, and DeWitt Henry will appear at the Watertown Arts Market as part of the Watertown Lit Squad’s contribution.
The Watertown Lit Squad gathered some of the Town’s authors, who will give readings and sign books at the Watertown Arts Market.

The Summer Concerts at Saltonstall Park have some new acts, along with some concerts that have been rescheduled.
The Watertown Cultural Council seeks input from the community through an online survey, which is open through the end of September.
The wealth of arts and culture that Watertown has to offer will be celebrated this weekend when dozens of artists, musicians, authors and others gather together.
