Join us on Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2022, between 2:30 and 6:30 p.m. in Saltonstall Park, next to City Hall, to celebrate our market and the community that supports it! This year, Watertown has the honor of hosting visitors from the State, including John Lebeaux, Commissioner of Mass. Department of Agricultural Resources, Steven Owens, State Representative 29th Middlesex District, Christine Ruggieri, Acting Regional Administrator, USDA FNS Northeast Region, Edith Murnane, Executive Director of Mass. Farmers Markets, as well as other representatives from state and local agencies.

Watertown Student Completes Evening Workforce Skills Course Aimed at Adults

Twenty-three adult students from the Greater Boston area recently completed evening courses in automotive technology, carpentry, cosmetology, and electricity at Minuteman Technical Institute in Lexington. These students have gained critical knowledge in trades with high demand for skilled workers and that provide long-lasting, economically sustainable careers. Minuteman Technical Institute (MTI) – the adult evening division of the Minuteman Regional Technical School District – offers 10-month and 15-week career technical education programs throughout the year. The 15-week programs are tuition-free for most applicants due to support from the Massachusetts Workforce Skills Cabinet.MTI is accepting registration for tuition-free 15-week programs that begin in September: CNC Machine Operator, Carpentry Pre-Apprentice, Facilities Manager, Robotic Technician, and Welding.

Watertown Free Public LibraryThe Watertown Free Public Library. August will be busy at the Watertown Library, with the debut of the Bookmobile, music on Saturdays for kids, and an exhibition of photos from local farms.

Watertown Group Remembering Those Killed in Hiroshima, Nagasaki

Group Coming to Watertown to Protest Circumcising Infants

Boston Area residents will be peacefully educated by activists including victims of genital cutting. The protest in Watertown will take place on Wednesday, Aug. 3 from 2 to 4 p.m. in Watertown Square. The public will be reminded that babies whose genitals are mutilated as infants grow up to be men who are speaking out about what was done to their penis before they could defend themselves.
