Watertown Field Hockey Team Making Headlines With Perfect Record

The Raiders have a winning streak of almost 50 games. Watertown High School’s field hockey team has found its rhythm and has had a nearly perfect season so far, and the Raiders grabbed the attention of the Boston Herald. Watertown has not lost any games on the way to a 16-0 record. The Raiders have kept a clean sheet in all but one game, and outscored opponents 100-1.

Watertown Boxer Will Knock Out Cancer at the Belles of the Brawl Event

Watertown resident, Julia Driesch, will be taking a shot at knocking out cancer by fighting in the ninth annual, “Haymakers for Hope Belles of the Brawl” all women’s charity boxing event at the newly opened, MGM Music Hall at Fenway. Tickets are now on sale for the event, with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. and fights beginning at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 29, 2022. This month, 24 brave women living and working in the Greater Boston area will compete in boxing matches throughout the night, against equally skilled opponents to help raise money for cancer research, awareness, survivorship, and care. In preparation for the big event, each fighter is strategically paired with a boxing gym and coach to guide them through the vigorous four-month training cycle.

Watertown Soccer Participating in Soccer Night in Belmont, Youth Teams Invited to Attend

Charlie BreitroseWatertown High School will participate in Soccer Night in Belmont, and Watertown Youth Soccer players and fans are invited to cheer on the Raiders at Belmont High School. Watertown High School will head to Belmont for a boys and girls varsity doubleheader, and youth soccer players from both communities are invited to cheer on their teams.

This is the seventh Soccer Night in Belmont and prior years Belmont has alternated between Winchester and Arlington, but this year Belmont invited Watertown to participate. The night has drawn 2,000 fans the past few years. The games will be at 4:30 p.m. for the girls and 6:30 p.m. for the boys on Saturday, Sept. 17 at Belmont High’s Harris Field, 221 Concord Ave., Belmont.

Watertown Wins Battle With Another Field Hockey Power

Hers she brings the ball up agains Sandwich in the 2o21 Div. 3 field hockey final. Two field hockey powers clashed on Saturday at Victory Field and the Raiders triumphed in the early season non-league matchup.
