Watertown Group Hosting City Chat on Using Federal ARPA Funds

Watertown Forward is very excited to present its next City Chat on the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). Watertown has a once in a life time opportunity to spend $10.5 million on projects that are within the federal guidelines in the ARPA. 4 Watertown Athletes Garner Boston Globe All-Scholastic Honors

The Fall season had many highlights for Watertown High School teams — including a state championship and a rivalry victory at Fenway Park. For their role in the successful season, four Raiders received All-Scholastic honors from the Boston Globe. And every fall team had at least one Middlesex League All-Star.

Watertown Group Visited Boston’s Newest Civil Rights Monument

The new “EMBRACE” civil rights monument at the 1965 Freedom Plaza in Boston honors honors the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr and Coretta Scott King.

On Friday, Jan. 13, 2023, a small Watertown contingent ventured to Boston Common in humid, drizzly weather to view the unveiling of Boston’s newest monument: Artist Hank Willis Thomas’ bronze sculpture, THE EMBRACE, which honors the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr and Coretta Scott King. Besides celebrating the Kings’ early connections to Boston, the monument also memorializes 65 Boston civil rights heroes and heroines.
