68% of households in our district have already completed their U.S. Census 2020 form. That’s fantastic progress, but we need everyone to be counted to ensure that our community gets its fair share of federal resources for schools, transportation systems, family nutrition programs, and so many other vital services. Fill out the Census here!

MassBay College Offering Online Summer Courses for High Schoolers

The following information was provided by MassBay Community College:

MassBay Community College will add five online and remotely-formatted courses this summer to be offered for high school students, exclusively. The six-week courses start on July 6, 2020 and include Entrepreneurship, Principles of Management, Creative Writing, Drugs and Society, and Security Awareness (course descriptions are below). High school students can also enroll in other MassBay courses.

Playgrounds, Courts & Town Hall Reopening; Town Budget, Hosmer Traffic to be Discussed

Tot lots and playgrounds will reopen this week, along with basketball courts and picnic and grilling areas in Watertown’s parks.

Playgrounds and tot-lots will reopen this week, along with basketball courts and other Recreation facilities. Also this week, the Town Council will hold budget hearings, and traffic around Hosmer School during construction is on the Traffic Commission’s agenda.

Small Saves Gets a New Goalie Shirt in This Week’s Cartoon

James DeMarco grew up in Watertown and became a goaltender at age 5. It’s his life’s passion to stand between the pipes and keep the puck out of the net. Combining this with the love of cartooning,  Small Saves  emerged in 1991 and took on a life of his own. “To play goal–then come home and draw Small Saves — is my ideal definition of a good day.”
