Watertown Grad Makes Track All-Region Team, Competing at NCAAs

Bridgewater State senior Abbi Peterson, a Watertown High School grad, was named to the NCAA Division III All-East Region honors from the U.S. Track & Field & Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). She will be competing in the NCAA Championships on Thursday.

Bridgewater State AthleticsWatertown High grad Abbi Peterson earned Athlete of the Week honors and will be competing in the NCAA Div. III Nationals. The following announcement was provided by Bridgewater State Athletics:

For the second time this season, Bridgewater State University junior Abbi Peterson has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week. A native of Watertown, Peterson captured top honors in the high jump last week at the MIT Final Qualifier as she posted a mark of five feet, 4.25 inches (1.63 meters). Bridgewater State AthleticsHigh jumper Abbi Peterson has won the MASCAC Track Athlete of the Week six times over the indoor and outdoor track seasons.

Watertown Grad, Bridgewater St. High Jumper Named Athlete of the Week

For the second time this season, Bridgewater State University junior Abbi Peterson has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week. A native of Watertown, Massachusetts, Peterson placed third in the high jump this past weekend at the Springfield College Massasoit Classic with a Division III New England Championships qualifying leap of five feet, 3.25 inches (1.61m). Peterson currently ranks tenth in all of Division III in the high jump and fifth in New England. The BSU indoor track & field teams are back in action on Saturday when the Bears compete at the Branwen Smith-King Invitational hosted by Tufts University.

Watertown Runners, High Jumper Compete Against Nation’s Best

Watertown senior Mange Camara sprinted to a second place finish in the Emerging Elite Competition at the 2019 New Balance Outdoor Nationals. Pictured, Camara won the 200 meters at the 2018 MIAA Div. 4 Outdoor Track Meet. Watertown’s Mange Camara closed out his high school track career by showing he can compete with the best high school runners in the nation. Camara, a senior, was joined by several other athletes at the New Balance Outdoor Nationals in Greensboro, N.C., this weekend.

WHS Sports: Track Star Wins State Title, Lacrosse Teams Make Tourney

Watertown’s Mange Camara won the 400 meters at the All-State Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Here he competes in the 2018 Div. 4 Meet. Watertown sprinter Mange Camara added another state championship to his list of titles. The senior won the 400 meter event at the All-State Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Westfield State on Saturday.

Watertown Runner Turns in All-American Performance, High Jumper Places

Watertown senior Mange Camara placed fifth in the 400 in the New Balance Nationals Indoor Track championships in New York over the weekend. Here he runs the 55 meter dash at the MIAA Div. 5 Meet. Watertown sprinter Mange Camara wrapped up the indoor track season by showing he is among the best high school runners in the United States. The senior competed at the New Balance Nationals Indoor meet at the Armory in New York City.
