Police Log: Deliver Man Caught Stealing Package, Home Ransacked

The following information was provided by the Watertown Police Department. Arrests

July 7, 1:36 a.m.: Police received a report of a person sleeping behind a shed at an apartment complex on Mt. Auburn Street. Officers encountered the man who said he had missed the bus to get home to Belmont. Police found he had two warrants: one from Malden District Court for driving under the influence of alcohol, and one from Salem District Court for defrauding a restaurant.

Police Log: Man Wields Knife at Co-Workers, 2 Scooters Stolen

The following information was provided by the Watertown Police Department. Arrests

June 28, 9:05 a.m.: Police checked the property in the Watertown Square Plaza on Mt. Auburn St., where Dunkin’ Donuts is located, after the property owner said homeless people had been seen camping and loitering there. Officers spotted man in a back alley on the property. They discovered he had six warrants for his arrest out of Waltham District Court for trespassing.

Police Log: Man Caught Wandering Around Construction Site, Juveniles Vandalize Signs in Parking Lot

The following information was provided by the Watertown Police Department. Arrests

June 23, 5:02 a.m.: A worker at a construction site on Arsenal Street spotted a man walking around inside the fence who did not appear to belong. Police were called and when they spoke to the man he said that he was fixing the fence. Officers confirmed that he did not work there, and there were numerous “no trespassing” signs. At first the man provided a false name and date of birth.

Police Log: Man Arrested for Driving Recklessly, Safe Stolen from Home

The following information was provided by the Watertown Police Department. Arrests

June 13, 3:34 p.m.: A car was forced into a parked car by another driver, who fled the area. A Honda SUV was driving east on North Beacon Street near the Toyota dealership. A Volkswagen tried to pass her and went over the double yellow line. Another vehicle was coming the other direction, so the VW swerved back and collided with the Honda, forcing it into a parked Lexus sedan.

Police Log: Moped Thief Caught Nearby, Driver Faces OUI Charge After Striking Hydrant & Tree

The following information was provided by the Watertown Police Department. Arrests

June 6, 12:34 a.m.: A vehicle went off the road on Pleasant Street and struck a street sign, a fire hydrant, and a tree. Police responded and found a 2002 Honda Accord on a grassy area near the Watertown Mews apartments. The only occupant of the vehicle was standing outside the car. He was checked for injuries but had none.

Police Log: Untraceable Pistol Recovered; Suspect Sought for Spray Painting Spree

The following information was provided by the Watertown Police Department. Arrests

May 30, 3:41 p.m.: Police received a complaint about a solicitor in the area of Holt Street and Bridgham Avenue. The man was going door to door trying to sell Mass Pro Steel Coating, but he had not followed proper protocols to check in with the City Clerk’s Office or the Police. When officers spoke with him they found that there was a warrant for his arrest from Waltham District Court for traffic offenses. Geno Harrison, 20, of Waltham, was arrested on the warrant.

Police Log: Man’s Social Security Account Compromised, Man Arrested After Putting Items in Backpack

The following information was provided by the Watertown Police Department. Arrests

May 25, 1:14 p.m.: Security at the Watertown Mall called Police to help with a man they were trying to issue a trespass letter. He left the Mall, and Police located him across Arsenal Street at the Nike Store. When officers were speaking to him they discovered he had four warrants for his arrest from Waltham, Brookline, and Somerville district courts, all for shoplifting-related charges. Devin Newbury, 31, a homeless man from Boston, was arrested on the warrants and was trespassed.

Police Log: Man Pulled Knife on Co-Worker, Woman Busted Twice for Same Crime

The following information was provided by the Watertown Police Department. Arrests

May 17, 4:39 p.m.: At about 2:45 a.m., an officer patrolling near Casey Park spotted a door propped open at the office building in the former Parker School. The officer waited for more officers to arrive, and they checked the building but could not locate anyone. At 6:43 a.m., a 911 call came from the building, but the caller was a bit incoherent and said “all was OK,” and then hung up. Police went to the building, but once again found no one inside.

    Watertown DPWWatertown trash and recycling pickup has been uncollected since July 1 when workers at Republic Services went on strike. Watertown City Manager George Proakis joined several mayors, town managers, and town administrators urging company Republic Services to come to a deal to end the strike that has stopped trash and recycling collection since July 1, 2025.
