Police Log: Dog Scares Off Intruder, Lightning Suspected of Starting Small Fire

July 20, 6:34 a.m.: The Probation Department alerted Watertown Police that a resident was wanted on a warrant for probation violation. Officers went to Nichols Avenue and placed the 40-year-old man under arrest on the probation warrant out of Waltham District Court.

July 20, 2:43 p.m.: Someone living in a home on Longfellow Road that was under construction heard someone walk inside and say “hello?” Then the person saw the family dog and said. “That’s a big dog,” and left.

July 16, 2:37 p.m.: A man came to the Police Station because he heard he might be wanted on a warrant. Watertown Police confirmed he had an active warrant. The 33-year-old man from Warwick, R.I., was arrested on the warrant for violation of a harassment prevention order out of Waltham District Court. July 18, 12:12 p.m.: Security at Target spotted a man who they had observed shoplifting dozens of times from March to July 2020.

Watertown Man Arrested in N.H. Child Pornography Investigation

A Watertown man faces charges of possession of a “Child Sexual Abuse Image” after being arrested by police in New Hampshire. Juan Correa, 31, of Ladd Street in Watertown, was arrested by Nashua Police on July 15 on a charge of Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Image, police announced. He was released on personal recognizance bail, and he will be arraigned in Hillsborough County Superior Court South on Aug. 20. The arrest was one of eight made in an investigation by the Nashua Police Department and Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force focusing on child exploitation during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, according to Nashua Police.

Police Log: Man Arrested for OUI Suspected of Dealing Drugs, Food Delivery Taken

The following information was provided by the Watertown Police Department. Arrests

May 26, 2:38 a.m.: An officer encountered a Jeep sitting in the intersection of Arsenal and School streets with the motor running and brake lights on. The driver had his head back and his eyes closed, and appeared to be sleeping. Officers knocked on the window for several minutes and eventually woke him. When the driver awoke, he was unaware of his surroundings or where he was.

Police Log: Family Home When Man Breaks In, Man Looking to Rent Home is Scammed

May 8, 1:22 a.m.: A family from Hillside Road called police after they heard a loud bang and an unknown man came into their home. When officers arrived they went into the home and confronted a man in the kitchen and were able to take him into custody. When the break-in occurred, a woman was upstairs sleeping with her 2-year-old child and the husband was downstairs in the living room playing video games. The wife called 911 and said that a man had broken the glass in the rear door and was in the kitchen.

Police Log: Man Busted After Driving on 3 Wheels, Driver Hits Two Parked Cars

The following information was provided by the Watertown Police Department. Arrests

April 28, 7:16 p.m.: A Toyota pickup struck a parked car in the parking lot of Stop & Shop on Pleasant Street, which pushed the car into another parked vehicle. A caller reported the accident to police and said the driver may be intoxicated. Officers found the driver still in his vehicle and knocked several times before the driver responded. He appeared to be in a daze and showed signs of impairment.

Police Log: Man Wanted on Rape Charges Caught, Scammer Steals $24K from Resident

The following information was provided by the Watertown Police Department. Arrests

April 24, 11:07 p.m.: An officer patrolling the parking lot at Victory Field noticed a vehicle parked there with the motor running, but with the lights off. The officer conducted a routine query of the license plate and found out that the owner was wanted on warrants. The officer confirmed the driver was the owner and placed the suspect, Gregorio C. DaSilva, 29, of Lowell, under arrest. He was wanted on a warrant out of Haverhill District Court for three charges of rape.

Police Log: Pair Get into Fight on Street, Packages Stolen from Homes

The following information was provided by the Watertown Police Department. Arrests 

April 8, 10:45 p.m.: Watertown Police were contacted by Middlesex County probation about a man in town wanted on a warrant. Officers located him at a home in Watertown and placed the 34-year-old Natick man under arrest on the warrant. April 11, 12:50 a.m.: Police received a report of a disturbance in the municipal parking lot behind CVS. When officers arrived they spoke to the people involved and found one of them had an outstanding warrant.
