FRAMINGHAM — Watertown High School is heading back to the MIAA Div. 3 Boys Basketball State Final after beating Tech Boston 64-57 Tuesday night. The Raiders jumped out to a big first half lead, controlling the first half, with a styffling defense and strong rebounding.

LOWELL — All season, the goal of the Watertown High School’s boys hockey team has been “Getting to the Garden,” but the dream almost slipped away in the Final Four game against Middlesex League rival Stoneham. The coaches gave the Raiders a simple goal: win the next 15 minutes. In the first period, second-seeded Watertown (14-9-1) played a fast, flowing game, which has been very successful so far in the MIAA Div.

LOWELL — Watertown High School’s Mason Andrade broke a 3-3 tie in the third period to beat Stoneham and send the boys hockey team to the MIAA Div. 4 State Final on Sunday. The Raiders jumped out to a 3-1 first period lead with two goals from Alec Banosian and the third from Michael Cormier.
Bridgewater State AthleticsWatertown’s T.J. Hairston will take a shot at the NFL at a Pro Day on March 22. Here he carries the ball for Bridgewater State. Watertown High School grad and standout wide receiver T.J. Hairston hopes to take his football career to the next level, and keep his dream of playing in the NFL alive this month when he attends an NFL tryout. He has been invited by two teams to participate in the Pro Day at Holy Cross on March 22. Hairston also has lined up a tryout for a Canadian Football League (CFL) team in early April.

After two straight dominating State Tournament victories, the Watertown High School boys hockey team found itself in a dogfight with Grafton/Blackstone Valley Tech on Saturday night. The Raiders prevailed 2-1, and will head to the MIAA Div. 4 Final Four.

After watching a 20 point lead whittle down to five, the Watertown High School boys basketball team kept its cool and finished off New Mission in the MIAA Div. 3 Round of 8 State Tournament game Saturday night, 64-57. Seventh- seeded New Mission (11-4) dug a little into the lead in the third quarter which ended with the Raiders holding a 15 point lead, (47-32).

LYNN — The season ended Thursday night for the Watertown High School’s girls basketball team, which could not keep pace with Parochial powerhouse St. Mary’s in the Round of 8 of the Div. 3 State Tournament.

A second period scoring burst sent the Watertown High School boys hockey on the way to an 8-1 victory over Dedham, and moved on to a round that the Raiders haven’t reached in several years. With the win, second-seeded Watertown reached the Round of 8 in the Div. 4 State Tournament, the equivalent of the Section final under MIAA’s old system. The Raiders last made it that far in 2016.
