Run the Boston Marathon for the West Suburban YMCA

Apply by November 10, 2019

The City of Newton has provided the West Suburban YMCA with one official bib number for the 2020 Boston Marathon on Monday, April 20, 2020. The Y is seeking one dedicated runner to lace up and raise $7500 for the West Suburban YMCA. Runner will receive a free membership to the Y while training, support for fundraising, team apparel and more. Deadline to apply for the bib number is November 10. Trick or Treat and Enter the Kids Costume Contest at the Watertown Mall

The Watertown Mall announced it will put on free events for kids on Halloween. See details below:

The Watertown Mall is hosting their free Halloween Happening events on Thursday, Oct. 31. Watertown Mall Trick or Treating will take place from 4:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. with select store participation. A list of participating stores will be available on the day of the event.

Watertown Savings to Donate $150K to Non-Profits, With $15K First Prize

Watertown Savings Bank (WSB) President and CEO Brett Dean is pleased to announce that $150,000 will be distributed among local non-profits in the Bank’s 24th Annual Customer Choice Awards. “The Bank will celebrate our 150th Anniversary in 2020 and as part of the celebration, we invite, and encourage, every WSB customer to vote for their favorite non-profit,” said Dean. “We are extremely proud of the Customer Choice Awards because of how many organizations are helped.”

Annual Watertown Boys & Girls Club Harvest Festival Coming Up

Watertown Boys & Girls Club will once again be hosting their annual Harvest Carnival

The Harvest Carnival will take place at the Club on Monday, Oct. 28 from 6–8 p.m. Fun for the whole family and all are welcome! The event includes carnival games, a prize barn, a ghost walk, best costume contest, and a bake sale. The cost is $3 for 10 game tickets with a canned good and $5 for 10 game tickets without a canned good. Please note the Club will not be open for after school drop-in or registered programs on Monday, Oct.

Hatch Hosting Costume Contest on Halloween

The Watertown Free Public Library’s Hatch Makerspace will be teaming up with the Plumbing Museum to put on a Halloween Costume Contest. See the Library’s announcement below. On Halloween Night, Hatch Makerspace will host its second annual costume contest, Halloween by Hatch, at the Plumbing Museum in Watertown. This free, family-friendly event celebrates the ingenuity and design of home-made Halloween costumes with treats, music, and (of course) great photo-ops throughout the museum. Come dressed in your best Halloween finery!
