Trick or Treat and Enter the Kids Costume Contest at the Watertown Mall

The Watertown Mall announced it will put on free events for kids on Halloween. See details below:

The Watertown Mall is hosting their free Halloween Happening events on Thursday, Oct. 31. Watertown Mall Trick or Treating will take place from 4:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. with select store participation. A list of participating stores will be available on the day of the event.

Annual Watertown Boys & Girls Club Harvest Festival Coming Up

The Boys & Girls Club will once again host its Harvest Festival/

Watertown Boys & Girls Club will once again be hosting their annual Harvest Carnival

The Harvest Carnival will take place at the Club on Monday, Oct. 28 from 6–8 p.m. Fun for the whole family and all are welcome! The event includes carnival games, a prize barn, a ghost walk, best costume contest, and a bake sale. The cost is $3 for 10 game tickets with a canned good and $5 for 10 game tickets without a canned good. Please note the Club will not be open for after school drop-in or registered programs on Monday, Oct.

Hatch Hosting Costume Contest on Halloween

The Watertown Free Public Library’s Hatch Makerspace will be teaming up with the Plumbing Museum to put on a Halloween Costume Contest. See the Library’s announcement below. On Halloween Night, Hatch Makerspace will host its second annual costume contest, Halloween by Hatch, at the Plumbing Museum in Watertown. This free, family-friendly event celebrates the ingenuity and design of home-made Halloween costumes with treats, music, and (of course) great photo-ops throughout the museum. Come dressed in your best Halloween finery!

First Parish Watertown Holding Fifth Arts & Crafts Show

First Parish Church of Watertown hosts a yard sale on May 3. The following announcement came from First Parish Church:

Once again this year, on Saturday, Oct. 26, First Parish of Watertown’s artists and crafters, joined by other talented vendors, opens its doors at 10 a.m. for its fifth arts and crafts show and sale. Originally conceived as a fundraiser to help pay for the replacement of an ancient heating system, the show now supports not only the church but also the artists and crafters whose high quality, affordably-priced items make great hostess and holiday gifts. Among the Watertown residents participating are Carole Katz (paintings); Missy Shay (quilts); Monica Fairbairn (jewelry); woven rugs (Johanna Erickson) and nature photography items (Carole Berney).

Ballroom Dance Studio Holding Free Class in Its New Location

Ballroom in Boston announced that it has moved to Watertown, and to celebrate the studio will offer a free class. The studio sent out the following information:

We are offering a free dance class open to the public on Oct. 25 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Now’s the time to learn to dance! Sign up for a FREE dance class on Friday 10/25 from 7pm – 8pm. You’ll learn the basics of tango and swing in just an hour!

Small Saves: Fall Means Hockey Weather

James DeMarco grew up in Watertown and became a goaltender at age 5. It’s his life’s passion to stand between the pipes and keep the puck out of the net. Combining this with the love of cartooning, Small Saves emerged in 1991 and took on a life of his own. “To play goal–then come home and draw Small Saves — is my ideal definition of a good day.”
