Watertown Recreation Has Tons of Activities This Winter

The Watertown Recreation Department announced it is offering the following program opportunities. The registration information is included below, posted on the Watertown Recreation Website www.recreation.watertown-ma.gov and in the Watertown Recreation Office in the Town Hall. Space is limited and participants are accepted on a first come first serve basis. Registrations will not be accepted at the site of the program. Please send recreation programming registrations to the Recreation Office.

Rec Department Running Adult Co-ed Volleyball, Women’s Basketball Programs

The Watertown Recreation Department has programs for adults, too, including a co-ed volleyball and a women’s basketball. Find out how to register below. Adult Coed Volleyball – Open Gym

This is a drop-in coed volleyball program designed to provide exercise and fun for adult men and women. This program offers gym time for men and women to enjoy competitive playing in a recreational setting. Who: Adult Men and Women (ages 18 and over)

This is a drop-in women’s basketball program designed to provide exercise and fun for adult women.

Winter Programs for Kids Hosted by the Recreation Department

Watertown children can join a variety of programs put on by the Recreation Department this winter, including skiing, floor hockey and the community sports and games weekend

The Recreation Department sent out the following information:

Wachusett Mountain Ski-Board Program

Who: Grades 6 – 12

Description: This program is designed to provide middle and high school students with a fun and safe atmosphere to learn elements of skiing or boarding or to improve their skills. All participants must wear helmets while skiing or boarding. Space is limited on the bus provided by the recreation department. Please register early. All participants’ parents must register online with Wachusett Mountain.

Watertown Recreation Hosting Trip to Water Park

The Watertown Recreation Department will be taking children to the Water Wizz park on Thursday, Aug. 1. The water park in East Wareham features rides such as the Hurricane Hill, Harpoon Lagoon, Pirates Plunge and Herring River Run. Children must be at least 9 years old and be able to swim. The trip costs $30 for Watertown residents and will leave Victory Field at 9 a.m. and return there at 5 p.m.

Registration is required and will be one a first-come, first-serve basis.

First Watertown Family Movie Features “The Lion King”

On Friday, July 19, the Watertown Police and Watertown Recreation Department will host a Family Movie Night, featuring the animated classic “The Lion King.” The free fun begins at 6:30 p.m. behind the Police Station, at 552 Main St., Watertown. The night also features games, face painting, popcorn, music, balloon animals, pizza and refreshments beginning at 6:30 p.m. The movie begins at 8 p.m.

Watertown Elementary students, bring your friends and family for a night of fun and excitement! The second family movie night will be held Friday, Aug. 9.

Watertown Hosting Two Family Movie Nights at Police Station

The Watertown Recreation Department and Watertown Police Department announced the dates for the 2019 Family Movie Nights. The departments provided the following information:
