The winning candidates in Watertown’s race for Town Councilor At-Large topped the voting in each precinct, but they split who won each of the town’s 12 precincts. Watertown High School Students Competed for Spot on WGBH TV Quiz Show

The team from Watertown High School that competed for a spot on WGBH’s High School Quiz Show. A group of Watertown High School students recently competed at WGBH’s studio to be part of the High School Quiz Show. WGBH provide the following information:

On Sunday, Oct. 20, Watertown High School visited WGBH’s Brighton studios to participate in Super Sunday, the qualification round of WGBH’s High School Quiz Show. High School Quiz Show is a televised quiz competition between Massachusetts high school students entering its 11th season of broadcast on WGBH. On Super Sunday, student teams come to the studio to take a 45-minute quiz with hopes of placing on to the broadcast.

Watertown Hair Salon Damaged by 2-Alarm Fire

Watertown Fire officials are trying to determine the cause of a fire that damaged a hair salon in East Watertown. The fire at Hair Pluss, located at 1 Grove St., was reported at 7:36 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 2. WCVB Channel 5 reported that one of the hairdressers arrived to find smoke coming from the building. A second alarm was called, and Firefighters brought the blaze under control.

WHS Sports: Boys Soccer Claims Tourney Win in OT, Football Wins, Field Hockey Game Moved

Watertown’s boy’s soccer team advanced to the North Section quarterfinal after an overtime win on Monday night. The Watertown boys soccer team came from behind to defeat Weston in overtime in the first round of the Div. 3 North Section tournament on Monday night. The third-seeded Raiders went up in the first half 1-0, but the visitors tied the game with two minutes left in the first half. Weston, the 14th seed, took a second half lead, but Watertown fought back to tie the score with five minutes left in regulation.
