WHS Sports: Football Team on a Winning Streak, Cross Country Wraps Up Season

Watertown senior quarterback Brennan Cook has had multiple touchdown passes in the past two wins for the Raiders. The Watertown High School football team may have missed the tournament, but the Raiders have found their winning ways. The team heads into the Belmont game on a three game winning streak and with a chance to finish with a winning record. On Friday, Watertown traveled to Weston and won handily, 31-7. Four Raiders scored touchdowns in the victory.

Watertown Sisters Compete in NCAA Field Hockey Tourney, Two More WHS Grads Played in Div. 3 Tourney

Sisters Kourtney (left) and Jonna Kennedy will both be playing in the NCAA Field Hockey Tournament Sunday. Kourtney plays for UConn and Jonna for Boston College. Sisters Kourtney and Jonna Kennedy will each be competing in the second round of the NCAA Div. I Field Hockey Tournament Sunday, as their teams seek a berth in the Final Four. Kourtney Kennedy, a junior defender with UConn, will be playing against Princeton in Storrs, Conn., at 1 p.m. Sunday.

Watertown’s boy’s soccer team advanced to the North Section quarterfinal after an overtime win on Monday night. The Watertown boys soccer team came from behind to defeat Weston in overtime in the first round of the Div. 3 North Section tournament on Monday night. The third-seeded Raiders went up in the first half 1-0, but the visitors tied the game with two minutes left in the first half. Weston, the 14th seed, took a second half lead, but Watertown fought back to tie the score with five minutes left in regulation.
