Police Log: Man Arrested After Resisting Arrest, Shoplifter Caught Wearing the Boots He Stole

March 17, 3:03 p.m.: Officers were at Target when they were alerted about a possible shoplifter. One of the employees saw the man take some headphones and a portable charger, and then exit the store. He rode away on a bicycle. The officer saw the same bicycle parked alone in front of Best Buy.

Woman Stabbed Multiple Times, Police Determine It Was a Domestic Incident

A woman suffered multiple stab wounds during an altercation that took place on Monday, March 21 on Cuba Street in Watertown. Watertown Police say the incident has been ruled domestic in nature. At about 8:33 p.m. on March 21, the Watertown Police received multiple reports of a disturbance on Cuba Street. Officers located a 35-year-old woman who had been stabbed multiple times. The Watertown Fire Department gave her medical aid and took her to a Boston hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

March 2, 9:43 p.m.: Police were called to Grandview Avenue for a man asleep in the driver’s seat of a vehicle. Officers were able to wake him, and he said he dozed off because he was tired from working so much. He added he was waiting for a friend. Police discovered he had an outstanding warrant.

March 17, 2017 was one of the darkest days for the Watertown Fire Department. They lost a beloved colleague, Joseph Toscano, during the aftermath of a fire on Merrifield Avenue. On Thursday, Watertown Firefighters showed up in large numbers to remember Joe on the fifth anniversary of his death. Current and former WFD personnel, on-duty and off, lined up several rows deep at the corner of Merrifield and Bigelow avenues at the time of his passing to salute Toscano.

Watertown Police Arrest Man Who Smashed Cruiser Windshield, Punched Two Officers

A Watertown man faces multiple charges after he smashed the windshield of a Police car and punched two police officers before he was talked down and placed under arrest early Thursday morning. One of the officers went to the hospital to have a broken nose treated, and the man was determined to have a history of mental issues, according to Watertown Police Lt. James O’Connor. Shortly after 3 a.m. on Feb. 17, officers at the Watertown Police Station spotted a man on security cameras coming down the driveway and walking up to a cruiser parked near the city park in back of the Police Station. He then hit the windshield of the car several times with what was later discovered to be a hammer.
